Design Philosophy
There is beauty in simplicity. I believe the best products are ones that any user can pick up, and intuitively comprehend how to use.
I enjoy thinking through the features a product might be lacking or that may end up being excessive, to give users that beautifully simple experience that makes a product great.
Good design starts with understanding the user, how they will naturally interact with the product, and what pain points they will encounter along the way.
With over five years experience as an account manager, working directly with stakeholders and end users, one of my most valuable skills is the ability to build relationships and understand user needs.
Whether it is brainstorming a way to set a product apart from competitors, or finding ways to meet the needs of a complex client in a complex industry, good design requires creative problem-solving.
Utilizing my creativity and finding solutions for these types of puzzles is the most rewarding aspect of learning client workflows and pain points, and designing interfaces to meet their needs.
Teamwork makes the dream work. I enjoy leading and being part of a team. While I am confident in myself and my work, I understand that my own perspective and experience have limitations.
Working on diverse teams to develop software interfaces and features has taught me that the most effective way to grow and be successful is to work with others and learn from their thoughts and ideas.
